New Campus Minister at Peru State College

“We hope to create a tidal wave of discipleship in Auburn and on the Peru State campus that equips young adults to impact every nation with the good news of Jesus.” -Mallory and Rachel

Reading those words for the first time last July quickened my pulse. These two college students outlined an ambitious strategy for ministry at PSC and with PSC students. One month later we started down the path they outlined. In 2013 Overflow started as an outreach to students that included an off-campus meal and Bible teaching at the Midway Building. In 2014 we begin a partnership with the One Life Church in Plattsmouth and CSF to start a ministry on campus. Overflow will continue and work to support CSF’s work.  CSF has hired Kim Haizlip to serve as a part-time campus minister at PSC, I hope you will use Kim’s note below to shape your prayers for her.

New Campus Minister at Peru State College

Who am I . . . My name is Kim Haizlip and I’m in love with the thought of bringing others to Christ.  I enjoy Interior Design, organizing and being in nature.  I have been married to Jon for 22 years and in that time we have been blessed with two children.  Our daughter Mattie is 12 going into the 7th grade and Malachi our son is 9 going into 3rd grade.  Jon and I have had the pleasure of being in full-time ministry for all of those 22 years of marriage.  Jon has held the position of Children’s, Youth, Associate Minister and now Team Leader at our current church.  We had the privilege of planting a church in Plattsmouth, NE over a year ago.  I have always had a passion for students of all ages.  Several years ago I had the privilege of working at Nebraska Christian College and my desire to work with college age students has grown stronger and stronger.

When do I begin…I will officially take my position with Christian Student Fellowship on the 1st of August.  I will be working two days a week. The first 6 months I will be connecting, connecting, connecting with as many people as possible on the Peru State Campus. I will also continue raising financial support for the year. In 2015, Lord willing, I hope to start a mid-week bible study. I look forward to having several one on one bible studies with women. I would also like to create discipleship groups. My hope is that each student that becomes a part of CSF is cared for and mentored by a leader.

Ways you can help…You, Auburn family have already blessed me and this ministry by allowing it to happen. Several of you have connections with individuals who attend or work at Peru. Those connections have and will continue to bless this ministry. Would you be praying faithfully for the students of Peru? I will be updating you on needs as things get up and running.
